FIDIC launches a new State of the World report in 2020
An new and revamped version of the State of the World report will be launched in 2020. The last report of its kind was published in 2015 and was well-received by the industry.
One of the strong points of that previous report was the consideration it gave to the broad and far-reaching impact global water challenges had on the infrastructure industry, while at the same time, considering some of the more complex interlinkages.
A lot of technological advancements and social changes have occurred across the globe since then, affecting not only the construction and engineering industry but also impacting geo-political dialogues and strategies
This year’s edition of the State of the World report highlights the important role engineers continue to play in addressing some of the critical issues affecting infrastructure around the world .
In an unusual shift from common practice, this updated report will be spread over a series of publications which will individually, offer critical insight into various issues, including infrastructure investment, economic incentive programs, as well as provide constructive examples on how these issues could be effectively tackled by consulting engineers and other leading experts in the industry.
