FIDIC Credentialing Certification board meets in Geneva for annual meeting

On 10 July 2025, FIDIC Credentialing’s Certification board met in Geneva to discuss and strategize on the progress for the future of FIDIC certification globally.

There were many notable firsts at this meeting:

  2. The new FIDIC CEO attended. This would be her first in-person meeting of this board.
  3. Two new certification programmes Chairs were also in attendance for their first physical meeting in Geneva.
  4. This year clocks five years since FIDIC Credentialing officially launched its certification programmes.

The meeting was chaired by Engr. Bayo Adeola, a FIDIC 30-year veteran who praised the work that had been done by the committees and the FIDIC Credentialing Team. He along with the FIDIC CEO thanked all the members for all that had been achieved since FCL was first established and praised the Credentialing Team for the operational achievements and efforts taken to move FCL from a start up to the fully-fledged company it is today.

The Vice-Chair, Lindy Patterson (KC), as well as the board members, including Stéphane Giraud, Dr Michele Kruger, Dr Ron Watermeyer, Dr Hu Zhangxi and Tesfaalem Gebreiyesus expressed their appreciation for the work done by all their committee members and used the opportunity to delve into the challenges faced, as well as the lessons learnt. Their future aspirations for each of the certification programmes were also shared and consideration was given to further mapping out the pathways and linkages between the respective certifications.

In attendance from the federation were the FIDIC CEO, Susanna Zammataro, the FIDIC Credentialing General Manager, Thanos Totsikas, FIDIC General Counsel, Daduna Kokhreidze and FIDIC Academy Manager, Michael Broadley, with each providing valuable inputs as regards FIDIC’s role in the industry, the importance of professional development globally, as well as the future initiatives and new developments which FIDIC will be championing in the near future.

FIDIC Credentialing is very proud of its diverse board and multinational committee members whose efforts have made it possible to establish an equitable and consistent blueprint for assessing the professional capacities of individuals working in the engineering, construction and infrastructure industries.
